What is a Five-Year Plan? A Five-Year Plan is your vision of your school now and in the future. It includes the programs you will continue to offer, new programs and modifications, enrollment goals, tuition plans, opportunities for new sources of revenue, new financial assistance opportunities, staff planning to support your goals, how to structure a library, whether accreditation is right for you, and more. Who Benefits from a Five-year Plan? The Five-Year Plan is essential for any school owner or director no matter how long the school has been open. A Five-year plan is a vital first step for anyone thinking about opening up a school. The Five-year Plan can often be used as part of the accreditation process. Most accrediting boards ask for a five-year or institutional development plan. How is the Five-year Plan different from a Business Plan? The Five-Year Plan has many similarities to a Business Plan and can yield ideas to use in a business and marketing plan. What is the Process to Create a Five-Year Plan? You receive a 25-page worksheet/manual. We encourage you to create a Campus Five-year Plan Committee and brainstorm each topic. Or you can do it on your own. Then we “meet” via phone conference call. Dr. Schulz facilitates the discussions and completes a custom Five-year Plan for your campus. Outcomes of a Five-year Plan You understand the potential of your school and the steps to reach your goals. You have a well-researched written document listing time, tasks, budget, and deadlines to reach your goals. Most importantly, each time you need to make a decision about your school, you can refer to your “plan” for the answers. |
